While growing up, the majority of Christy Slaw’s immediate and extended family owned businesses. And while she did not carry on this tradition herself, the traits that made them successful – hard work, dedication to your career, and customer service – were instilled in her and have served her and her clients well.
In college, Christy’s love of science grew from her distinct lack of interest in other subjects and an incredible professor that made chemistry fun. Luckily for F&R and our clients, a lack of opportunity in the chemistry field after graduation led her to environmental consulting which allowed her two loves, science and the outdoors, to provide her with a career that has seen her work on thousands of projects over the past twenty years.
Today, Christy is a proud employee of the family owned business that is F&R, and she is happy to be able to make a living in a profession that allows her to get to know her customers and provide them solutions to their environmental needs. Christy’s duties regularly include consultation with clients on regulatory and technical issues in support of their business processes in the areas of risk management, real estate acquisition and development, and industrial operations. As Director of Environmental Services, Christy oversees environmental operations in each of F&R’s offices and provides guidance and overall management of the division as a whole.
